2011 Health Benefits Exchange Campaign: Resources for Member Organizations

The following are resources available for United Power leaders and allies. If you are interested in more information on Health Benefits Exchanges, consider attending our October 7th workshop - more information on the calendar link to the right.

UPDATE: The initial report from the Illinois Legislative Health Insurance Exchange Commission has been released and is available below (last attachment). A final report is expected by October 7th.

Further information on Health Benefits Exchanges:

1. The Campaign for Better Health Care wrote the attached “Q and A on the Exchange” which covers many of the main concepts and issues. They use the term “Competitive Health Care Marketplace” interchangeably with “Exchange.” http://www.cbhconline.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Qand-A-on-the-excha...
2. The Department of Insurance has a website devoted to exchanges at http://insurance.illinois.gov/hiric/hie.asp . In particular we found the two Commonwealth Fund reports to be helpful.
3. The Health Benefits Exchange Legislative Study Committee has its own website for the issue at http://www.ilga.gov/commission/cgfa2006/Resource.aspx?id=1227. We found the two consultant reports (Wakely and Deloitte) particularly useful.
