United Power members are churches, synagogues, mosques, neighborhood-based and civic organizations committed to organizing their people power.
Together, organizing across religious, geographic, racial, and economic lines members fight for the common good and act on issues of shared concern.
Founded in 1997, United Power is the Cook County affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF), the oldest and largest network of broad-based power organizations in the United States.
We are fiercely non-partisan, neither running nor endorsing any candidates for political office and working with all public officials of good will. But each affiliate organization is also unapologetically dedicated to building relational power (organized people, organized money) to address issues impacting the people within its institutions and local geographic area.
United Power for Action and Justice is a network of people’s institutions
